CRITERIA FOR INCLUSION IN THE BASENJI CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN JUDGING LIST
A1 List

Persons the Club would support, and who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club AND have carried out the appointment.

A2 List

Persons who would in principle be approved by The Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates and who have achieved the necessary criteria to be included on the A3 specialist/non-specialist list and achieved The Kennel Club minimum training needs for first time CC judges.

A3 List

Persons the Club would support to award Challenge Ceritifcates but who, as yet, have not been approved by The Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 List.

Breed Specialists
  1. A minimum of 7 years active involvement in the breed
  2. A minimum of 7 years Basenji judging experience
  3. To have completed a minimum of 5 appointments in Basenjis, including at least one show with a minimum of 12 dogs present and judged
  4. To have judged a minimum of 50 Basenjis
  5. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 Basenjis when they obtained their first entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (except in special circumstances)
  6. To have attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with the relevant code of KC Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
  7. To have stewarded over a minimum of 12 days at shows
  8. To be prepared to write show critiques as customarily required by the canine press
  9. To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on KC Regulations and Judging Procedures
  10. To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement
Non-Breed Specialists
  1. To have awarded CC's in at least one other breed
  2. A minimum of 7 years judging in any breed, to include 5 years judging Basenjis
  3. As for breed specialists

  5. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (except in special circumstances)
  6. To have attended at least 1 Basenji Breed Seminar and passed an examination/assessment as applicable
  7. As for breed specialists

B List

Persons who the club would support to judge four or more classes of the breed at open shows and championship shows where Challenge Certificates are not on offer.

Breed Specialists
  1. To have a minimum of 3 years active involvement in Basenjis
  2. To have judged a minimum of 15 Basenjis
  3. To have attended a seminar on the interpretation of the Baseni breed standard and to have passed an examination/assessment. To have attended seminars on ring procedure, KC show regulations, conformation and movement
  4. To be preared to write show critiques as customarily required by the canine press
Non-Breed Specialists
  1. To have a minimum of 5 years judging Basenjis
  2. To have judged a minimum of 20 Basenjis
  3. As for breed specialists
  4. As for breed specialists
C List

For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the Club.
